Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, treats acne scarring, large pores, textural issues, and fine lines.
After microneedling the body will begin producing collagen and elastin as it repairs itself. Boosting collagen reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smoothes acne scars, restores lost volume, and improves the overall texture, firmness and thickness of the skin. The procedure also triggers the creation of new skin cells using the body’s natural healing process.
For those with acne scars, and deep wrinkles, multiple treatments may be recommended.
The effects of microneedling are permanent, but because the skin continues to age, maintenance treatments will be needed to retain the benefits. The number of treatments will depend on the severity of your skin problems, your goals, and the results you desire. Studies show that treating the skin with four sessions spaced one month apart produced up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin within six months after the last treatment.
The Procedure and what to expect:
Before the procedure, numbing cream will be applied. 30 minutes later, the procedure begins, with minimal discomfort. Nothing should be applied to the skin for 24 hours. Your face may be red for up to 48 hours.
Most will begin to see results within four weeks. A series of three treatments is recommended with 6-8 weeks in between.
Proper aftercare is crucial, which is why a stem cell aftercare kit is provided. This will help reduce inflammation, and speed up the healing process.
Nothing should be applied to the skin for 24 hours. Do not use any exfoliating products for 7 days post treatment.
